Spring Training on the Hi-Line
This past weekend, members of the Campus Corps programs at Stone Child College, MSU-Northern, Aaniiih, Nakoda College, and Fort Peck Community College gathered at MSU-Northern for their spring training. The collaborative event kicked off on Friday afternoon with a number of training sessions covering skills such as using the Education Award, resume building, continuing one's involvement in community service, etc. Saturday members were kept busy with two consecutive service projects. The first took place on the Fort Belknap Reservation on the campus of Aaniiih Nakoda College where they transplanted some seedlings from the greenhouse to the outdoor community garden. Next, they headed out to the Earth Day event at the Atrium mall in Havre, where they worked on Earth Day themed arts and crafts activities with local youth. Overall, the weekend was a great success and members from each of the four participating campuses enjoyed the opportunity to get to better know some of their peers serving across the state.
